Interesting article exploring the new direction picture books are taking. This will be completely ‘normal’ for a whole generation of young readers – a specific application (excuse the pun) I for one didn’t see coming, but adds an extra dimension to the intertextuality of childrens’ literature.

Excellent piece Katie, and a pretty useful blueprint for how to do a good picture book app, I think. We’re great believers in meaningful interactivity that supports the narrative without overpowering it, and where the words, pictures, sound and interactivity combine to produce a whole greater than the sum of their parts – but these kind of high production values don’t come cheap.

We’re still refining what we do but I’d be very interested in hearing your thoughts on what we’ve accomplished so far.
