Hi Lydie! I certainly enjoyed this description and I'm also happy to see what you've been doing since St. Olaf. Fun to find you online! (Do you actually read these?)

Fantastically detailed and intriguing piece Lydie. Chris is fortunate to have someone as attentive, articulate and interested as you are, and we are fortunate to have this piece to experience the richness of Chris' creative process. Bravo to you both!

Always love a guy who makes breakfeast & get's up early to awake the sleeping family. Decipline along with a highly active routine is what makes some of the best artest the best. It takes a lot of work and a crazy ness that makes them wonderful, productive and great. I know it's not always easy to live with an artest however you truly seem to be his inspiration.

Hi Lydie

Thanks for the insight into your hubby's process. As an author/illustrator just getting going on my career, it's always helpful to see what works for another artist. Of course, I wish I was as disciplined. I remember reading some time back about research on happiness that revealed that though most of us strive for a life of endless freedom, those of us who, either by choice or necessity, give up some of that freedom for a more regimented schedule fair far better. A hard thing to practice, especially with a 2 year old in tow these days!
