I remember reading this article in the Horn Book magazine. It stayed with me in my mind and in my heart for many years because of the gentleness, courage and optimism that comes through in her words despite the obstacles and restrictions imposed by the art directors she worked with and the printing trends of the time. And even though she loved to work in color, I love her black & white scratchboard work immensely. Thanks for sharing this again:)
