2017 Fiction and Poetry Award winners extras

Horn Book editor in chief Roger Sutton and Newbery-winning author Kwame Alexander announced the 2017 Boston Globe–Horn Book Award winners at School Library Journal’s Day of Dialog on May 31st, 2017. The 2017 Boston Globe–Horn Book Fiction and Poetry Award winner is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (Balzer + Bray/HarperCollins).

One Last Word: Wisdom from the Harlem Renaissance written by Nikki Grimes, illustrated by various artists (Bloomsbury Publishing) received a BGHB Fiction and Poetry Honor.

The Best Man by Richard Peck (Dial Books for Young Readers/Penguin Young Readers/Penguin Random House) received a BGHB Fiction and Poetry Honor.
