ALA 2009
Events and giveaways from the Horn Book

If you’re heading to Chicago for this year’s ALA annual conference, make sure you swing by our booth (#2259) in the exhibits area to say hello and see what’s new. And don’t miss Editor in Chief Roger Sutton’s series of interviews, Five Questions for…, with some of this year’s most decorated authors and illustrators:

Neil Gaiman
Beth Krommes and Susan Marie Swanson
Ashley Bryan
Candace Fleming
Brian Selznick
Laurie Halse Anderson

Our sister company, Junior Library Guild, has kindly agreed to host these sessions in their booth (#2256) just across the aisle from ours. There’s a complete schedule with detailed times available at the Horn Book and JLG websites. And if you’d like to suggest questions, there’s a place at Roger’s blog to do just that. We’re also jazzing things up with some drawings and giveaways:

Subscribe to any Horn Book publication (even the free e-newsletter, Notes from the Horn Book) at the conference and receive a free copy of the July/August 2009 awards issue featuring the full text of this year’s Newbery, Caldecott, Wilder, and Coretta Scott King acceptance speeches.
With that same subscription you’ll also be entered in a drawing to win free books for a year from Junior Library Guild. It’s a total of 48 books, in the age and interest levels of your choice, delivered through JLG’s collection development service over the next 12 months.
And if you subscribe to either the Horn Book Magazine or Guide at ALA, we’ll also set you up with a single-user subscription to the Horn Book Guide Online, FREE for one year.

Even if you can’t catch the sessions, please swing by booth 2259 anyway to say hello, enter the drawings, and check out what's new.
