sure, it is the season of hope after all ...
The signature matches the signed items for sale on eBay, so my guess is yes, she probably did. How cool is that!
I kind of hoped so, but I kind of hoped not, too, as "The Julie Andrews Collection" has never received a kind word from these quarters so I am afraid that Fraulein Maria may just be the teensiest bit . . . insincere.
But I am currently reading Mandy in hopes of making an honest woman out of her.
When my sister was managing editor at Harper Junior Books in the mid-80s Julie was not permitting Harper to use the last name "Andrews" on her books, because she specifically did not want to trade on her celebrity status. So -- The Last Of The Great Wangdoodles for instance was published as "Julie Edwards" without any "Andrews" middle name even, as I recall. My sister said that she sprung this on the editorial staff well into the editorial process, and the marketing people were quite frustrated that even the bio on the back jacket could not include any mention of the musicals, movies, etc. So -- Roger -- I think this earns a couple extra brownie points doesn't it? (NO?? IT DOESN'T?? You know you are very harsh.)
How can you even imply that she'd even consider something so underhadned as forging holiday cards? How DO you solve a problem like our Roger? I'm telling your Mom.
