Nothing to see here, folks

as I am distractedly trying to keep with Guide and Magazine book review edits while getting ready to go to ALA tomorrow. I will try to post from Seattle and I promise to let you know what making The Call (for the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award) is like.

Enjoy ALA in Seattle! I will look forward to your postings from the festivities as I am envious and unable to make the midwinter journey (or should it be pilgrimage to the mother ship) this year.

Any inside info you care to share concerning who you think will win the Caldecott or Newbery? Inquiring minds ....

I'll be watching the webcast at my workplace.
Let's see. 9 am Seattle time is 12 noon Eastern time.
I hope.

Got in last night, staying in a chic (it has a "pillow menu") but teensy-roomed (either Richard or I can sit down. Not both.) hotel and am gradually coming to acept the fact that I will never get the theme song from that stupid Bonanaza/Seven Brides for Seven Brothers knock-off tv show from the sixties out of my head. "In Seattle . . ." Showing my age, I guess.

Caldecott will probably go to Flotsam by David Wiesner.

All the predictions I've seen so far contain a wide variety of books, but that's the only book that seems to pop up on allmost all the lists.
