*Making Martha and me feel old, for being the only people in the office who seemed to know Nick and Norah when they were Nick and Nora.

Forget "feeling" old; you are old! Deal with it (says someone who just had another birthday, making her a few years yours and Martha's senior, but not much).

Ouch! And leaving me with yet another title to add to that ever-growing to-read list...

Just watched SINGIN' IN THE RAIN with my daughter yesterday and wondered how many of my high school-age friends know the real Cyd Charisse.

Don't feel bad. I'm in my early 30s and a fan of Dashiell Hammett. When I first heard of the movie, I thought of them, and Asta too.

Hey, I'm 27 and I grew up with the original Nick & Nora (& Asta). AND all the old musicals.

Damn straight-- I'm 23 and I did too. My dream 21st birthday was going to be getting all dressed up and holding a Thin Man Marathon with all the guests trying to match Nick and Nora drink for drink.

Then I realized I didn't want to end up dead from alcohol poisoning before I'd had a chance to see 22.

You want old... I just talked to a 20-something who didn't know Paul Newman was an actor until he died. "I thought he just made salad dressing," she said.
