Writer/cartoonist Lincoln Peirce, creator of the Big Nate comic strip, will be at the Wellesley Free Library to talk about his latest collection of cartoons Big Nate: I Can’t Take It! He’ll be giving a drawing demo, explaining cartooning tools and vocabulary, and talking about how he comes up with storylines. Fans of Big Nate’s sidesplitting antics will not want to miss this!
Please note: While this event is free and open to the public, to enter the signing line attendees must have purchased a copy of Big Nate: I Can’t Take It! from Wellesley Books, either at the store or the event. Please be prepared to show proof of purchase. If you cannot attend the event, you can still order a book to be personalized by the author.
In this second collection of all-color Sunday Big Nate cartoons, Nate finds that life can be stressful. At school, Mrs. Godfrey makes every day a nightmare. At home, he’s stuck between Ellen, his incredibly annoying older sister, and Dad, perhaps the most clueless parent of all time. It’s enough to make even a can-do kid like Nate scream: “I CAN’T TAKE IT!”
Lincoln Peirce began creating comic strips in the sixth grade and has been drawing Big Nate for 20 years. Peirce taught high school in New York City and has created several animated pilots for Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. He lives in Portland, Maine, with his family.
