(MEA) Mark Adam, a graduate of the master’s writing program at Emerson College, currently works for Mrs. Nelson’s Book Fair Company in Southern California.

(LA) Lauren Adams, a Horn Book Magazine reviewer, has taught children’s and young adult literature in the Boston area.

(LEA) Lelac Almagor is a writer and English teacher living in Washington, DC.

(TDA) A former middle school teacher, Tanya Auger holds a master’s degree in learning and teaching from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

(B. BADER) Barbara Bader is a regular contributor to the Horn Book Magazine with long connections to picture books and folklore.

(DFB) Deirdre F. Baker reviews children’s books for the Toronto Star and teaches children’s literature at the University of Toronto.

(HRB) Hannah Rodgers Barnaby holds a MA in children's literature and an MFA in writing for children and young adults. Formerly an editor at Houghton Mifflin, she has also worked as a children's bookseller and an instructor in the MFA program at Simmons College. She was the inaugural children's writer-in-residence at the Boston Public Library and is currently working on a young adult novel.

(BB) Barbara Barstow is the former youth services manager (now retired) for the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Cleveland, Ohio. She has chaired both the Newbery and Caldecott medal award committees.

(AB) Amy Lee Bennett holds a MA / MFA in children's literature from Simmons College. She is a tutor, freelance writer, and adjunct instructor of children's literature and writing in the Boston area.

(NB) Nell Beram is a longtime Horn Book Guide reviewer and a frequent contributor to Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers.

(CJB) Caitlin J. Berry received her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College and now lives on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

(SPB) Susan P. Bloom, professor emerita, is the former director of the Center for the Study of Children’s Literature at Simmons College and a Horn Book Magazine reviewer.

(TB) T. Borregaard holds an MS in archaeology. She writes fiction and nonfiction educational books for children and teaches anthropology, archaeology, and ancient history. She lives in California where she is pursuing a PhD.

(FFB) Frieda F. Bostian has recently retired as an English instructor at Virginia Tech.

(JMB) Jennifer M. Brabander is senior editor of The Horn Book Magazine.

(MLB) Miriam Lang Budin is a children's librarian and storyteller at the Chappaqua Library in New York. She has served on the Newbery, Caldecott, and Anne Izard Storyteller's Choice award committees and is currently chairperson of the Ezra Jack Keats Award committee.

(ALB) Anita L. Burkam is a former associate editor of The Horn Book Magazine.

(MAB) Margaret A. Bush is a professor in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons College and a Horn Book Magazine reviewer. She has had extensive experience as a librarian in public and academic libraries and at the Library of Congress.

(PMC) Paula M. Cairo is the Lower School librarian at Friends Select School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

(BC) Betty Carter is a former professor of children’s and young adult literature who presently works as an independent consultant. She is the author of Best Books for Young Adults and coauthor of From Delight to Wisdom: Nonfiction for Young Adults and is a Horn Book Magazine reviewer.

(ABC) Amelia Cass is an editorial intern for The Horn Book Magazine and The Horn Book Guide.

(JMC) Jeannine M. Chapman, former assistant editor of The Horn Book Guide, is currently studying to be a teacher in New Jersey.

(AEC) Aimee Chevrette holds a master's degree from the National Centre for Research in Children's Literature at Roehampton University in London. She is a graduate of Simmons College and has worked in publishing for several years. She currently lives in the Boston area.

(LBC) Luther B. Clegg, professor emeritus of education at Texas Christian University, has taught children’s literature and social studies methods for more than thirty years. He is the author of The Empty Schoolhouse: Memories of One-Room Texas Schools and coauthor of Celebrating Diversity: A Multicultural Resource.

(ALC) Amy L. Cohn teaches children's literature to graduate students at Lesley University and helps undergraduate students improve their skills at the Endicott College Writing Center. She is the compiler of the anthology From Sea to Shining Sea and coauthor, with Suzy Schmidt, of Abraham Lincoln (both Scholastic). She is currently working on an initiative with Scholastic Book Fairs encouraging booktalking in the nation's schools. She makes frequent author appearances at elementary schools.

(PCC) Philip Charles Crawford, library director for Essex High School in Vermont, is the children's literature columnist for Knowledge Quest.

(TLD) Tamara DePasquale holds a master’s degree from the Center for the Study of Children’s Literature at Simmons College and is the youth services librarian for the Eldredge Public Library in Chatham, Massachusetts.

(CHD) Claudia Harrington DeShay, education librarian at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, has worked as a consultant for schools and libraries and as a youth librarian in a large urban system. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in library science from Texas Woman’s University, where she has taught courses in children’s and young adult literature.

(DE) David Elzey is a former editorial intern for The Horn Book Magazine and The Horn Book Guide and currently is a bookseller at the Children’s Book Shop in Brookline, Massachusetts.

(ALF) Alicia Fazio is an editorial intern for The Horn Book Magazine and The Horn Book Guide.

(KF) Kitty Flynn is senior editor of The Horn Book Guide and online content editor for The Horn Book, Inc.

(DJF) Danielle J. Ford is an associate professor of science education at the University of Delaware and a Horn Book Magazine reviewer.

(JF) Author of Presenting Paul Zindel and of articles and book reviews for library publications, Jack Forman serves on several ALA committees and has held a variety of positions in public libraries. He is a reference and instructional librarian and the coordinator of public services at the San Diego Mesa College Library, part of the San Diego Community College District.

(SMG) A school library media specialist with a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons College, Sheila M. Geraty serves as a librarian at the Brookwood School in Manchester, Massachusetts. She also holds a master’s degree in children’s literature.

(ERG) Elissa Gershowitz is managing editor of The Horn Book Guide.

(MG) Melinda Greenblatt is Library Connections program director for the Archdiocese of New York. She previously worked on the Library Power project at New Visions for Public Schools. She serves on the advisory committee for Middle and Junior High School Catalog and the Children's Book Committee at Bank Street College of Education.

(CG) Claire Gross is assistant editor of The Horn Book Magazine and The Horn Book Guide.

(RLH) Rebecca Hachmyer received her MA in children's literature from Simmons College.

(SH) A freelance children’s book editor in the Boston area, Susan Halperin holds a master’s degree from the Center for the Study of Children’s Literature at Simmons College. She was previously an editor at Candlewick Press.

(BH) Betsy Hearne is a professor of children’s literature and storytelling in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois. She is also a reviewer, critic, and the author of books for both adults and children.

(GBH) Gail Hedges teaches children’s literature at Lesley University and other Boston-area colleges. She is currently president of the Foundation for Children’s Books.

(CMH) Christine Heppermann is a reviewer for The Horn Book Magazine.

(MLH) Marika Hoe is pursuing her master’s degree in children’s literature at Simmons College. She works as an editor for the reading and language arts division of an educational publisher in Boston.

(MLI) Megan Lynn Isaac, an associaate professor at Elon University, teaches and writes about Shakespeare, children's literature, and young adult literature.

(KI) A former middle school teacher and librarian, Kathleen Isaacs reviews for professional magazines, teaches children's literature at Towson University in Maryland, and is a member of ALSC's 2008 Notable Children's Books committee.

(CJ) Formerly a trade book editor, children’s and young adult librarian, and children’s literature consultant, Cyrisse Jaffee is associate manager, editorial content, in the Educational Outreach department of WGBH. She holds an MLS from Simmons College and reviews children’s books for several publications.

(DK) Deborah Kaplan, a librarian and independent scholar, holds an MS in library science and an MA from the Center for the Study of Children’s Literature at Simmons College.

(AK) Former program specialist, Children’s Services, for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Amy Kellman consults and teaches children’s literature. She is a past president of the United States Board on Books for Young People and has served on the Batchelder, Caldecott, and Newbery award committees.

(JSK) Juliet S. King has an EdM in language and literacy from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She currently works as a clinical instructor and professional-development consultant at the Stern Center for Language and Learning in Vermont. She has also worked as a special educator and children’s bookseller.

(AHK) Abby Harper Kingsbury holds a master's degree in children's literature from Simmons College. She is the children's librarian at a public library in central Massachusetts and maintains a private tutoring practice for dyslexic children.

(MVK) Maeve Visser Knoth is a children’s librarian for the San Mateo (CA) County Library System and an adjunct faculty member at Lesley University. She is a former reviewer for The Horn Book Magazine.

(SDL) Susan Dove Lempke is the children’s services supervisor for the Niles Public Library District in Illinois and a Horn Book Magazine reviewer.

(BDL) Becky Levine is a writer and editor living in California’s Santa Cruz mountains. She is currently working on a middle-grade mystery novel.

(LAL) Lauren Aimonette Liang is an assistant professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Utah. She is a former middle school teacher and reviews children’s literature for several publications.

(CAL) Cindy Lombardo is Director of the Tuscarawas County Public Library in Ohio. She has served on numerous selection committees for both ALSC and YALSA.

(JRL) Joanna Rudge Long is a reviewer for The Horn Book Magazine and a former editor of the young people’s section of Kirkus Reviews.

(AMM) Amanda M. MacGregor, a graduate of the master’s program in children’s literature at Simmons College, has worked as a children's bookseller and a children's librarian.

(LMM) Lauren Maggio, a graduate of the master’s program in children’s literature at the University of British Columbia and Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science, is the education librarian at the Boston University Medical Center.

(MHM) Michelle H. Martin teaches children’s and young adult literature at Clemson University in South Carolina.

(BTM) Bridget McCaffrey holds master's degrees in early childhood education and children's literature.

(AAM) Professor of education at Ohio Wesleyan University, Amy McClure is the author of Sunrises and Songs: Reading and Writing Poetry in an Elementary Classroom; Response Guides for Teaching Children’s Books; and Books That Invite Talk, Wonder and Play with Language. She is also coauthor of the children’s literature textbook Living Literature: Using Children’s Literature to Support Reading and Language Arts.

(BLM) Beth L. Meister is the library media specialist at Pleasant View Elementary School in Franklin, Wisconsin. She is a graduate of Mount Mary College and received her MLIS from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

(MM) Meaghan Miller is an editorial intern for The Horn Book Magazine and The Horn Book Guide.

(PJM) Pamela Mishkin is a writer and editor of secondary and higher education Spanish textbooks. Her teaching experience ranges from bilingual elementary education to college-level Spanish. She holds an MA in Spanish literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and currently lives in Miami, Florida.

(MVP) Martha V. Parravano is executive editor of The Horn Book Magazine.

(LP) Lissa Paul, a professor at the University of New Brunswick, is one of two general editors of the Norton Anthology of Children’s Literature.

(NCP) A former children’s bookseller who holds a master’s degree in English literature, Norah Piehl is a freelance writer and editor living in the Boston area.

(CEP) Cynthia Platt, a freelance children's book editor and writer, was formerly an editor at Candlewick Press and a high school English teacher.

(PR) Patricia Riley has masters degrees in writing and children's literature. She has worked as a freelance writer and illustrator and has taught children’s book writing at various continuing education programs in the Boston and Providence areas. Currently she lives outside Philadelphia.

(LR) Lolly Robinson is designer and production manager for The Horn Book, Inc. She teaches children’s literature at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

(AES) Formerly managing editor of The Horn Book Guide, Anne St. John has also worked in libraries and bookstores. She holds a master’s degree in children’s literature and lives in Hudson, Ohio.

(ACS) Alissa C. Salamone is a special education preschool teacher with Arlington County Public Schools in Virginia. She holds a bachelor's degree in bilingual elementary education from Texas Woman's University.

(TS) Terri Schmitz is the owner of the Children’s Book Shop in Brookline, Massachusetts, and is a regular contributor to The Horn Book Magazine.

(SNS) Sarah Scriver is marketing and circulation assistant for The Horn Book, Inc.

(EJS) Elizabeth Shaver holds an EdM in language and literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA in political science from UC Berkeley. She has worked as a children’s bookseller, a second grade teacher, and an elementary reading specialist. She is the reading instructional leader at JJ Pickle Elementary School in Austin, Texas.

(CLS) Carolyn Shute is a content research editor for an educational publisher. A freelance writer who has taught at the college level, she holds a master’s degree in children’s literature.

(MFS) For almost twelve years, Martha Sibert worked as Children’s Coordinator for the Roanoke County Public Library in Virginia. She received her master’s degree from the Simmons College Center for the Study of Children’s Literature and is currently a freelance writer in Brookline, Massachusetts.

(HMS) Henrietta M. Smith is professor emerita on the faculty of the School of Library and Information Science, University of South Florida, in Tampa. She has served on the Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Newbery, and Wilder award committees and is the editor of The Coretta Scott King Awards Book: From Vision to Reality, The Coretta Scott King Awards Book, 1970–1999, and The Coretta Scott King Awards Book, 1970–2004.
