Caldecott at 75

The Caldecott Medal marked its seventy-fifth anniversary in 2014. In a year-long series of articles published in The Horn Book Magazine, librarian and children’s literature historian K. T. Horning looked at one seminal but unheralded Caldecott book of each decade — identifying trends, noting the changing nature of the picture book, wrestling with issues and definitions.

Beneath the link for each article, you’ll find links to supplemental material from our archives: original Horn Book reviews, interviews, and illustrator profiles. Click on the tag Caldecott at 75 to see all of our anniversary celebration content.
