Look Out!

We’re taking registrations for the 2012 Horn Book at Simmons colloquium, and I hope you can attend. Following the Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards ceremony and reception (to which all colloquium participants are invited), we will be spending a day with the BGHB honorees examining their books in the many lights of this year’s colloquium theme: Look Out!

The BGHB event (pretty swanky as these events go) is Friday, September 28th, and the HBAS colloquium follows the next day, all in the beautiful Paretsky room at Simmons College. Sessions at the colloquium take many forms–interviews, panels, small-group discussions–so it doesn’t get boring (although I still cloud over thinking of the panel I was moderating where a distinguished participant twiddled her thumbs whenever I asked a question) and there are lots of opportunities to talk to the speakers and fellow attendees. Networking! Debate! Autographing! Snacks! I hope you will join us.
