We’re moving!

Our new home

As of the beginning of April, the editorial office of the Horn Book and all its resident oompa-loompas will be moving to 300 The Fenway, Boston MA, 02115. Sharp-eyed readers will recognize the address as also being that of Simmons College, and we are delighted to be renting an office suite just down the hall from Cathie Mercier and our other pals at the Center for the Study of Children’s Literature. More details to follow, but can I say how happy I am to be afforded lunch options beyond a (not-bad) Irish bar and a Dunkin’ Donuts? Trust me to focus on the things that really matter.

  1. The most important question is: do they serve Paddy Irish Whiskey at that bar?

  2. Roger Sutton Roger Sutton says:

I haven’t had a drink in years but I’m guessing they do. It’s really Irish. So come visit us soon!

  3. Very interesting news. I hope this move will work well. I went to Simmons and loved it. I dream of getting back to Boston for the Masters in Chil Lit some day.

  4. Susan Marston says:

I had no idea you were moving, but this looks like a great new home. How will it be in the snow? (Seems like a relevant question this year!)

  5. But won’t The Horn Book at Simmons be a redundant name for a colloquium now?

(Congratulations – this move sounds like it makes a lot of sense!)

  6. Congrats! Sounds like a great idea for many reasons. That really helps your commute, doesn’t it? Walk to work?

  7. Roger Sutton Roger Sutton says:

The walk is not quite two miles from my house. I may do so just to avoid the #39 bus, which is completely lovable off-peak but a nightmare during rush hour.

  8. Roger Sutton Roger Sutton says:

Susan, I don’t think many people will be driving to work, as parking is expensive. And three MBTA lines go within two blocks so it shouldn’t be too bad.
