Peter Sís on The Pilot and the Little Prince

saint-exupery_little princeIn the May/June 2014 Horn Book Magazine, reviewer Sarah Ellis asked The Pilot and the Little Prince author/illustrator Peter Sís about his own introduction to Saint-Exupéry’s beloved book. Read the review here.

Sarah Ellis: Did you read The Little Prince when you were a child?

Peter Sís: I remember exactly when I first read The Little Prince. It was evening and I was in my bedroom, and my father handed me a copy of the book and said, “This is special.” And special it was. I read it in one sitting and dreamed of becoming a pilot and meeting a Little Prince of my own. The story felt full of promise and hope and fragile beauty.
