A Celebration of Beverly Cleary at Symphony Space

klickitat_streetIf you live in New York City and are a Beverly Cleary super-fan, here’s a great-sounding event:

Thalia Kids’ Book Club: A Celebration of Beverly Cleary

An all-star cast of actors, including Condola Rashad (Billions), plus authors Jarrett J. Krosoczka (Lunch Lady series), Tony DiTerlizzi (The Spiderwick Chronicles), Jeff Kinney (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), and RJ Palacio (Wonder) pay tribute to the author of more than 30 books, including the Ramona Quimby series, Dear Mr. Henshaw, and The Mouse and the Motorcycle on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

firstbooknycThe event is to benefit Team First Book NYC and it’s being held at Symphony Space (where, btw, we would go every year growing up to see my grandfather perform with the Christmas Revels. Susan Cooper is also a fan; no biggie).

We at The Horn Book have been celebrating Beverly Cleary in anticipation of her 100th birthday on April 12, 2016. Click on the tag for more. And tell us your favorite Beverly Cleary stories.
