2016 BGHB Picture Book Award winners extras

On June 2nd, the 2016 Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards were announced — via video for the first time! — by Horn Book editor in chief Roger Sutton and Linda Pizzuti Henry, managing director of the Boston Globe. The Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards ceremony will take place at Simmons College in Boston, MA, on September 30th, 2016, with the one-day Horn Book at Simmons colloquium the following day.

The 2016 Boston Globe–Horn Book Picture Book Award winner is Jazz Day: The Making of a Famous Photograph written by Roxane Orgill and illustrated by Francis Vallejo (Candlewick).

Thunder Boy Jr. written by Sherman Alexie and illustrated by Yuyi Morales (Little, Brown) received a BGHB Picture Book Honor.

One Day, the End: Short, Very Short, Shorter-than-Ever Stories written by Rebecca Kai Dotlich, illustrated by Fred Koehler (Boyds Mills) received a BGHB Picture Book Honor.
