Meet our fall interns!

Every semester, we ask our interns to tell us a little about themselves. (Our ulterior motive: we want to chat with them about their favorite books!) Meet editorial interns Kaylee and Molly and design intern Kellie, all of whom are a huge help to us this fall.

Interested in a Horn Book internship? The application deadline for the spring 2017 semester is November 15th.

Kaylee Anzick

Education: Currently a senior pursuing a B.A. in Writing, Literature, and Publishing at Emerson College

Hometown: Frederick, MD

Interesting fact: When I was four years old I wanted to be three things when I grew up: a geologist, a writer, and the president of the United States. My ultimate plan was to do all three at the same time.

Favorite books: Five of my favorites are Moominvalley in November by Tove Jansson, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle, Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich, and The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez

Molly Saunders

Education: BA English Literature and Classical Civilizations (Agnes Scott College), MA/MS Children’s Literature and Library and Information Sciences (Simmons, currently in progress)

Hometown: Birmingham, AL

Interesting fact: Before starting at Simmons, I worked as an au pair for a year in Austria, so I speak German (with a heavy focus on kids’ songs/rhymes!).

Favorite books: I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, and American Gods by Neil Gaiman
