From the Editor - August 2022

The September/October issue of the Horn Book Magazine is at press and soon to be on its way to your mailboxes (and our website). Check out the mysterious and enticing cover by Vera Brosgol, from A Spoonful of Frogs, by Casey Lyall, and you can even get a jump (ha) on Halloween with our annual Horn BOO! picture-book recommendations. Tanya Lee Stone’s latest Magazine article on nonfiction helped inspire the Notes section “Where history and biography meet,” and our Five Questions interview with Elizabeth Partridge and Lauren Tamaki is a master class in nonfiction synergistic collaboration. August used to be our annual back-to-school issue of Notes; this year we tried it in July. Which do you prefer?
