From the Editor - November 2022

This is our second-to-last issue of Notes for 2022; December is our Fanfare issue — our annual “best of” list — and, spoiler alert, it’s going to be great. This issue, too, is a good one, including a selection of picture books about one of our favorite subjects: stories! And a Five Questions interview, during Native American Heritage Month/National American Indian Heritage Month, that reframes the oft-told Thanksgiving narrative (via, appropriately enough, a story).

In the news: on Calling Caldecott, Martha discusses Caldecott eligibility of the recently announced New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children’s Books. The Michelson Galleries’ 33rd Annual Children’s Illustration Celebration is up (more to come from me on that soon). Transgender Day of Remembrance / Trans Day of Resilience is observed on Sunday, November 20. And members of the HarperCollins Union (UAW Local 2110) continue their strike

From the November 2022 issue of Notes from the Horn Book.
