ALA Awards 2009

The most prestigious honors in children's literature, the Newbery and Caldecott Medals and the Wilder Award, were awarded to Neil Gaiman, Beth Krommes, and Ashley Bryan on January 26, 2009, at the American Library Association's midwinter meeting in Denver. Also announced at the gathering were the winners of the Coretta Scott King, Belpre, Printz, Sibert, and Batchelder awards, the winner of the first William C. Morris YA Debut Award, and several other major honors.
