Survival of the fittest

Adding to the media (and merchandising) madness of the new Hunger Games movie, fans in New York, Boston, Washington DC, and Philadelphia can work out like Katniss and Peeta at the “Train Like a Tribute” class offered at participating Sports Clubs (NYSC, BSC, WSC, PSC). The classes, free and open to nonmembers, are starting now at a select club in each city and will run through the end of next month. Promising an intense full-body workout — without the fear of being killed by your fellow classmates — this gimmick intrigues me since it actually relates to the story. I can’t wait to try the “Katniss Kickbacks.”

Anyone else up for the challenge of this Hunger Games-inspired training program?

  1. Considering there will be two strong girl characters who are excellent archers in theatres this year –Katniss and Meridoc in Pixar’s “Brave”— I wonder if archery will become the hot new thing?
