Everyone here is busy with last-minute details for the Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards ceremony this Friday night. My 24th, eep. While I expect it to be a happy event, we are all going to miss the presence of Monica Edinger, chair of this year's award commitee, who is in rehab following a stroke in late July. I encourage all attendees at the event to send your thoughts and photos to Monica at her Caring Bridge page, maintained by her Dalton colleague and dear friend (and Friend of the Horn Book) Roxanne Hsu Feldman, who is sharing comments from there with Monica.
On Saturday morning, Cathie Mercier and I will be interviewing several of the winners and judges for what we hope will be the first in a series of Horn Book at Simmons podcasts. Then we are all going out to lunch, a familiar state of affairs for me.
