Roger_EdBriant_191x300It is ALA awards month, and I hope you can join us at the association's Midwinter Conference in Atlanta, January 20th through 24th. The Horn Book will be at booth #2117 in the exhibit hall, and executive editor Martha V. Parravano and I will be making the rounds and picking up the gossip. (Unfortunately, MVP has far too much integrity to share the deliberations of her CSK Awards Committee, but we will both tell you what should win the other medals.) Come meet us, and pick up a free copy of the January/February Horn Book Magazine and the beautiful poster Lolly Robinson has designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards.

Editor Emeritus Roger Sutton was editor in chief of The Horn Book, Inc., from 1996-2021. He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.
