From the Editor - July 2025

If you’re in the Boston area this weekend, join me at the Boston Public Library on Saturday, July 26, in conversation with Awkward author-illustrator Svetlana Chmakova, as part of Boston Reads Comics. On Sunday, July 27, I’ll be leading a lunchtime seminar at the Summer Children’s Literature Institute, “Are We There Yet?” at Simmons University. A weekend with children’s lit people: balm for the soul and a chance to process, commiserate, and mobilize around mind-boggling national dictates and to celebrate (not-so) small victories.

From the July 2025 issue of Notes from the Horn Book.
