Two reminders

Make sure you're in attendance at Lolly's Classroom, which today takes on the topic of book reports that are a) fun for kids and b) not too much work for Teacher.

Also, I hope you can come to our Children's Books Boston event tomorrow night (rescheduled from last week), where I'm joined by Martha Parravano, Julie Roach, and Vicky Smith for a panel discussion on "Why Did THAT Book Win," some Thursday-evening quarterbacking on the children's book awards of 2013. It begins at 6:00PM, Room M501-502, Simmons College, 300 The Fenway. If you would like to attend, please reserve a spot by emailing CBB at hbook dot com.

He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.

The Peanuts video gave me a real chuckle! It reminded me of the book reports we all had to write. Now that I write my own books, of course I look at things differently. I was thinking of putting the video on Facebook. Would it be okay to link to this page? Thanks! Kathy Brodsky

Hi, Kathy. This is one of my favorites, and I think of it fondly whenever I grade student papers! Also with every book review I write, using Charlie Brown's rationale for procrastination. Spot on! If you go to the original video on YouTube (click on YouTube logo, lower right of video window), you should be able to share it to Facebook from there.
