I really should apologize for my earlier post suggesting cynicism on the part of HarperCollins' marketing department.

He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.

I'm just afraid the movie's going to turn out to be another debacle like Stuart Little and Trumpet. Even just watching the trailers, I'm going, "That wasn't in the book. That wasn't in the book! That totally was *not* in the book."

Sorry, I'm kind of a fan of his.
