He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.

>Lisa -- don't go dissing the only vegetable someone very dear to me ever eats! I admit I also quite like their fries, though once or twice feel like I got a batch pulled out from the fat+calorie free oil a bit too soon. Then again, when judging this, keep in mind that I would rather spend a day in an in-n-out drivethrough line than at Disneyland....
