Editor Emeritus Roger Sutton was editor in chief of The Horn Book, Inc., from 1996-2021. He was previously editor of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books and a children's and young adult librarian. He received his MA in library science from the University of Chicago in 1982 and a BA from Pitzer College in 1978.

I don't know what the correlation is between HB stars and BGHB Awards, but the processes for determining each are both very different and selected by different people. Stars are determined by the Magazine editors in consultation with the masthead reviewers; the three BGHB judges (one of whom may also be a HB reviewer) consult no one but each other.

Sorry, off topic-- Isn't it time for the BGHB awards?

And speaking of HB stars (back on topic)-- Anybody know what percentage of BGHB winners are also HB stars? Does it help?
