Here I am, late to the party as usual. Wouldn't that embargoed book be considered a "prestige book?" An award winning author and a deep, what some would call an important, subject? I ask because I have a theory that prestige books are usually released late in the year, the way prestige movies are, so they'll be fresh in the minds of the people who vote for the awards, which for children's books are announced in January. (I know that "big" titles that are expected to sell well are released in the fall to take advantage of the Christmas buying season.) This book coming out in January doesn't do anything to support my prestige award theory. Unless it's forgotten by January of 2013.

It seems like your review would have been appropriate posted even a week or so before the release date; it certainly doesn't give anything away or destroy any hype. I'm still wondering about the purpose of the embargo.
