Hello, my name is André Letria, illustrator and publisher of the original Portuguese edition of the book War. I want to thank the Boston Globe and the Horn Book for this distinction. I also thank you on behalf of my father, José Jorge Letria, who is the author of the text. Finally, I would also like to thank Patsy Aldana, the publisher of Aldana Libros, an imprint of Greystone Books, for understanding that this is a necessary book for dark times.
