From the Editor - August 2025

August may be winding down, but we’ve still got plenty of new reading recommendations: summer-set stories for middle-graders-and-up and page-turning (and door-stopping!) tomes for YA readers. See also our annual Summer Reading list and last month’s issue of Notes for back-to-school stories for all ages. For an astounding real-life whale of a tale, check out this issue’s Five Questions with Michelle Cusolito and Jessica Lanan about In the World of Whales, along with more nonfiction STEM picture books about sensational sea life. You may even need a bigger boat.

From the August 2025 issue of Notes from the Horn Book.
