Little House in the Big 'Burbs

Rose_wilder_houseLittle House fans, get your mortgage pre-approvals ready. The home of Rose Wilder Lane (Laura's daughter, as if I had to tell you!), in my hometown of Danbury, CT, is on the market.

Four BR, 3.5 bath, 3505 sq. ft, 2.03 acres: asking a very reasonable $439K.

Charles Ives lived in Danbury. And Marian Anderson. Sybil Ludington (anyone?). There's a prison (it's where the real Piper did her time) and a mall and a train museum and an airport. It topped Money magazine's "best places to live" list (mumble mumble in 1988). Even before that, there were lot of hats. Maurice Sendak died there.

Someone who reads The Horn Book please buy this house, have a party, and invite us over. We'll even bake Laura's gingerbread to share.

(Now where's my commission?)
