We were sad to hear about the death yesterday of author Gary Paulsen. A three-time Newbery honoree — for Hatchet, Dogsong, and The Winter Room — Paulsen won the Margaret A. Edwards Award in 1997. Read his Publishers' Preview: Middle-Grade: Five Questions interview, from the January/February 2021 Horn Book Magazine, and starred review of his recent memoir, Gone to the Woods: Surviving a Lost Childhood.
