But I just listened to Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and Other Concerns). It was all very agreeably bubbly, but don't go looking for dirt on The Office--the one chapter devoted to the show is perfunctory, as if Kalin is satisfying a contractual obligation. What I loved most about the book was where she discussed her childhood and adolescence, growing up in suburban Boston, finding out that BFFs aren't necessarily forever (or even until tenth grade), the various public and private humiliations of youth. I wouldn't normally want to encourage celebrities to go the writing-for-kids route, but I'd like to see a YA novel from this one. In a story about learning to ride a bike at the advanced age of twelve, she even references Robert Cormier. We are currently offering this content for free. I would say it depends on the guy. My husband sometimes doesn't even untie his shoes to begin with, so all he really has to do to put them back on is tug on them. On the other end of the spectrum, I had a friend in late high school/early college who had authentic aviator boots and they took several minutes to lace up and tie, which drove me completely nuts. Mindy Kaling had a really good interview on the Daily Show about her book a couple of months ago. I don't remember The Office coming up all that much in the interview, but I was definitely interested in the book afterward. Glad to hear it's good!Posted : Jan 10, 2012 04:48
