FREADOM Town Hall & Rally

If you're in the DC area, check out FREADOM Town Hall & Rally on May 31 at 5:00 PM ET at the MLK Library (and streaming on YouTube @dcpubliclibrary). Speakers include past National Ambassadors for Young People's Literature Jason Reynolds and Meg Medina (read their recent call to action), "warrior librarian" Tracie D. Hall, That Librarian Amanda Jones, and Newbery Medalist (and Acoustic Rooster creator!) Kwame Alexander. 

From Alexander:

"It feels urgent for us to gather and plan together how to respond as citizens to this attack on our freedom to read, write, and learn. So I’m bringing together some smart people to speak about what intellectual freedom — the freedom to read, write, and learn — means to us personally and collectively. And we’ll work together to form an action plan to stand up for these freedoms."
