In our September/October issue, HB Mag editor Martha Parravano asked Sergio Ruzzier about choosing the perfect trim size for
Two Mice. Read the full starred review of
Two Mice here.
Martha Parravano: Two Mice has an unusually small trim size. (Of course, it doesn’t have many words, either.) What was your thinking behind that decision?
Sergio Ruzzier: I thought of a small size for
Two Mice ever since I first conceived it. It’s a quick-paced adventure with a very brief text, which lent itself naturally to a small format. I’ve always kept in my mind the words of Beatrix Potter, who said from the beginning how she wanted to create “little books for little hands.” This was the right occasion to follow her example.
