There's a world outside of Yonkers, Barnaby, and I've recently visited kidlitwomen* and Calling Caldecott, talking, coincidentally (I think), about gender.

There's a world outside of Yonkers, Barnaby, and I've recently visited
kidlitwomen* and
Calling Caldecott, talking, coincidentally (I think), about gender. I hope I did so with more understanding than the White House seems to have, although, let's be real, that's quite a low bar.
Also elsewhere was
our Elissa, attending a story hour hosted by Julie Roach and the ALA Prez Loida Garcia-Febo. And
the Horn Bookers stalwartly womanning our booth at the Boston Book Festival. We were also in New York, sort of,
receiving an Eddie and Ozzie Awards Honorable Mention for the
Magazine's "Making a Difference" special issue published in May. I think the Eddie and Ozzies used to be the Edpress Awards, and there used to be a fancy dinner, but if there was a dinner this year nobody told me. IT'S AN HONOR JUST TO BE NOMINATED.
One more place you should go today is over to SLJ for
Kathy Ishizuka's comprehensive analysis of the journal's survey of U.S. school and public libraries' acquisition and use of diverse books. Read it. Live it!
