CBB Trivia Night 2018—or—Lyle, Lyle Bibliophile: We Never Wabered

The venue for the fifth annual Children’s Books Boston Trivia Night, the Brahmin, was new this year. But much was the same: host Jack Gantos and his Gantosian commentary. Silly team names: “TK,” “Where’s Papa Going with That Axe?” And of course, lots of children’s literature professionals muttering, “I should know this!” Elissa and I, […]

Trivia time!

Bon vivant Jack Gantos will again host Children’s Books Boston’s annual trivia night, this year on Monday, June 11, 6:00-9:00PM at the Brahmin, 33 Stanhope St (off Clarendon near Back Bay Station). Fifteen bucks cash only at the door, RSVP here by June 4th.

Lucky for us, Children’s Books Boston’s Wicked Boston Trivia Challenge at M. J. O’Connor’s Back Bay, hosted by the one and only Jack Gantos, […]

CBB Trivia Night 2015—or—It’s not dorky. It’s cool. Shut up.

The Horn Book is steeped in tradition. Since 1924, we’ve reviewed and discussed the finest in children’s literature. And since 2014, we’ve brought home the win at Children’s Books Boston’s Wicked Boston Children’s Book Trivia Challenge. This was the second year that Boston’s librarians, booksellers, editors, students, and other children’s lit nerds piled into M. […]

CBB Trivia Night 2014: We were the champions…eventually

The Horn Bookers — a.k.a. Goldilocks and the Free Beers, a.k.a. Elissa, Shara, Katrina, Lolly, and Rachel — got off to a slow start at last night’s Children’s Book Boston trivia event held at M. J. O’Connor’s Irish Pub located in Back Bay. We were two team members down at the start of the evening […]
