National Hispanic Heritage Latinx Heritage Month 2022

National Hispanic Heritage Latinx Heritage Month is a time for "paying tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society." It runs from September 15-October 15. This was a particularly exciting year for children's books, as Donna Barba Higuera was the first person to win both the Newbery Medal and the Pura Belpré Award. Read her Newbery speech and profile from our July/August 2022 Horn Book Magazine ALA Awards special issue.

Here are many more interviews, recommended books, and articles from the Horn Book archives to help you celebrate "the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America."
